Lead Yourself

Before you can lead others, You must be able to lead yourself.

If you cannot lead yourself others won’t follow you.

If you cannot lead yourself others won’t respect you.

If you cannot lead yourself others won’t listen to you.

If you cannot lead yourself others won’t trust you.

If you cannot lead yourself others won’t understand you.

If you cannot lead yourself how will you make a difference?

Leadership is demanding it is created from noble disciplines.

It requires an elevated sense of mastery with practice, skills, desires and commitment. It begins with leading ourselves to understanding, acknowledging, and attending to our insides.

It is the fundamental and necessary building block to greatness.Set your standards high.

Do the best you are capable of doing.

Do everything to bring forth your personal best.

To lead yourself successfully is a self knowing you made the effort to become the best of which you are capable of.

The better you are at leading yourself the better the chance you are at having a positive impact on others.

Lead From Within:  The truth is we need each other…..to learn from each other…..to lead ourselves and to lead by example, because we are joined by a common cause….to lead from within …. so we can increase the quality and quantity of heart based leaders around the world.

Nice post Lolly, it is as you so well state admirable and wise to first learn to lead yourself from within before attempting to lead others. Not easy perhaps and a life journey.

It is easy to get caught in the fast pace of life and forget to stop sometimes and look within to make sure you are listening to your own advice, to be true to yourself and admit your own mistakes and celebrate your achievements.

The comments on the Tweetchats on Tues evenings are testament to leadfromwith and your great example of what leading by example is truly about. Thanks Lolly.

Beautifully written as always. Just as our learning is a lifelong pursuit, so is our learning to lead from within. Just when I think I know myself, I find areas to go deeper.

Thank you, Lolly, for being a courageous facilitator for so many to discover the potential that lies so deep within each one’s heart.

Great post Lolly and very true.
A great leader must first be a great person and that means staying in the struggle to grow every day and become someone better. And the only way to do that is to know ourselves better, our strengths and weaknesses, that will give us greater confidence in ourselves and then we can set an example and inspire others.
Thank you for sharing this and be an example of Lead From Within.
See you on Tuesday to continue learning on tweetchat.

I absolutely and completely love this post, Lolly! I believe that self-discipline, while so tough, is key to successful leadership. I often say that wise leaders show mercy to new mistakes show recurring mistakes to the door!

I also think it’s key that leaders align their actions with their ideals.

    Wonderful post. Thank you.

Life is a journey of growth and learning, and most important learning we will ever do is learning about ourselves, understanding self.
Without understanding self how can we lead self?
    Great reminder Lolly.

As I read everyone’s comments, I can’t help but notice how we all know each other through you; we learn about ourselves and others through you; and how #leadfromwithin, because of you, has become our touchstone for the week.

We grow, we learn, and we become better at who we are because of you. You touch our very inner being with your leadership.

    We are blessed.
