Feel The Fear Do It Anyway

That which we fear grows in proportion  to our preoccupation with it. The more we fear a thing, the bigger it becomes which in turn increases our fear.

We can move forward and through anything. All situations can be met. All experiences can be survived. Avoidance is no longer our technique for survival.

As Eleanor Roosevelt said, You must do the thing you think you cannot do.

    Thanks for that powerful reminder Lolly! There is a book by that same name (Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway) that is one of my absolute favorites. There is exhiliration in walking through the fear…to paraphrase all of our moms advice, “the fear won’t kill you, but pressing forward in spite of it will ABSOLUTELY make you stronger!”

    I actually had the pleasure of applying the act of feeling the fear and doing it anyway.

    I was asked to host a webinar at the last minute today. Naturally, fear gripped me immediately, but I started taking the necessary steps to “do it anyway”. After the event was over, I felt a rush of positive emotions and thoughts.

    Thank you so much for this post. It inspired me to work through my fear today and accomplish a goal.

      Delilah, You are a perfect example of what I am speaking about. F. E. A. R. is usually False Evidence Appearing Real. You felt fear and you did it anyway and you were fine. NO, you were more than fine. You felt positive afterward. SO PROUD OF YOU!

    I’m about to start a new job next month a culinary teacher. Being shy and soft spoken, I never really succeeded in overcoming this fear. I always ran out of words and experienced mental blockage in front of a crowd. I have to remind myself about this. There’s no turning back now.
