Are You A Poet & Don’t Even Know It.

Are You A Poet & Don’t Even Know It.

2

A poem, said Robert Frost, “begins in delight and ends in wisdom.” So too with life.

Poetry is, after all, life transformed into verse- the surging, exhilarating, untamed current of human thought, feeling and experiencing. We do not have to be able to write poetry to understand it, for poetry is everywhere, within us and without.

Have you ever watched the lyrical movement of trees in the breeze, the rhythmic soaring of birds overhead, the measured emergence of stars as they become visible in the evening sky? Have you ever listened to your inner poetry- your thoughts, dreams, the song of your soul?

Allow your life to be filled with colors, textures, scents  that have meaning to you. Let your soul lead you through meadows and take you down deep into the valleys. There are many poems, waiting like the stars to come out and to illuminate your heaven.

As a poet you embody courage, you dare to give a voice to the yearning that too often lies buried in your heart. Unearth what you yearn for-  It is then, that your life can begin with delight and end in wisdom.

We are all poems in search of a voice.

Decision-Making Requires Courage

Decision-Making Requires Courage

Life, if you haven’t noticed, isn’t always simple. All sorts of decision-making confronts us everyday – from the big and life-changing to the small and mundane.

Making these major decisions requires courage. Courage requires the ability to face your fears and take action despite them. Fear is a natural, a necessary feeling, and is often useful in decision-making to give us a natural, necessary caution.

When making decisions, keep the following in mind:

  • Set goals- The idea of setting a goal is that the decision- maker takes stock in his or her plans for the future, with his or her principles and values and priorities. The decision- maker needs to be able to answer, What am I trying to accomplish? That answer is the decision-maker’s goal and that will influence the decision making process.
  • Gather information- Before making a decision gather information. because our decision making is complex. So you want to know the various options available to you. Ask yourself questions. Who is affected in each option, and how? Do the effects change over time? Will taking or not taking a particular course of action close off other options?
  • Decision structuring-if there is a great number of options and numerous points, you must learn how to pull together all your information. Determine a way to manage the information.
  • Making a final choice- after gathering all the information, the decision maker needs to make a selection from the final set of options.
  • Evaluating- a helpful last phase of decision -making (which is probably always omitted) is evaluation of the entire process. What went well about the process? What didn’t go so well? The aim here is to reflect and identify the areas of the process that can stand improvement as well as those that ought to be used again in the future.

Every problem hides an opportunity so powerful it literally dwarfs the problem. The greatest success stories are told of people who recognized a problem and reversed it into an opportunity.

Only you can change your life. Only you can see the opportunity. Whether you’re the head of a Fortune 500 company, a government agency, or an everyday household, you constantly make decisions important to you and those immediately around you. You have the ability to learn from your mistakes, be able to approach and weigh individual choices more effectively, and start making smarter decisions-today.

This blog post is dedicated to you: My friends on twitter. Who allow me to reflect, contemplate, and ponder out loud each and every day.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me. Many of you have not been mentioned in this blog – you know who you are and I am grateful and appreciative of ALL you.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What is PASSION?

Here are some answers:untitled-1WOW!!! Great, inspiring, brilliant thoughts. Thank you.

My mind still unsettled I continued to ponder to myself ………….

SO WHAT IS PASSION?

Passion ignites fire, zest, or fervor to your soul.

It is the force that relentlessly drives one forward against all odds and obstacles, enabling you to conquer your circumstances.

We all want to think our life has purpose. We all want to be passionate about what we are doing, and to feel we are making some valuable contribution.

Passion ignites a person to live a more full life.

The passionate have big dreams. Those with passion are focused on their goals, not themselves. They are wrapped up in their dreams, not their worries. They don’t have the time or inclination for self-pity. When things go wrong, they learn from their mistakes and quickly continue on their way.

Passion is magical.

A person with passion is expressive, intensely feels, fervently articulates, and adventurously journeys into the unknown to create his world.

Passion can bring the nonexistent into existence

Consider for a moment, what are the alternatives to a life of passion? Would you rather lead an empty life or one filled with passion and purpose? Whenever it is a matter of ability or passion, passion is always the victor in the battle for success.

Passion is a burning desire that creates commitment to a person, work, or life.

Can there be any greater gift than to give yourself and others the gift of a passionate life?

Step forward boldly.

Take a risk. Live a life with passion. Live the life of your dreams.

I dare you to Live a Life of Passion.
