Six Ways To Motivate
Six Ways to Motivate Yourself
We all need motivation in our lives. Sometimes we can rely on the way we feel inside to pull us through a rough patch. In other cases, we need to look outside for something to keep us going. Regardless of where we find motivation, we must find it. Achieving our goals requires effort and will always involve some struggle. If we surrender in the face of a challenge due to sagging motivation, we'll never get to where we should be. How can you motivate yourself? Here are four ideas that might help you persevere through tough moments. First, Revisit your "Why" - Focusing on a dull task doesn't make it any more attractive. Revisiting and asking yourself why you are bothering in the first place- will make it more appealing. If you can't figure out why, then there's a good chance you shouldn't bother with it in the first place.revisit your personal passions. Rediscover the reasons behind your decisions and how much they mean to you. This is often enough to get people back on track. Second, think about others who've overcome tremendous odds to reach the point of success. Those dramatic "against all odds" tales aren't just entertaining, they remind us that anything is possible. Third, reconnect with your source of inspiration. Some people find a great deal of inspiration in religion. Others may find it in nature, literature, art or elsewhere. Think about what inspires you the most and make a point of interacting with it. Fourth, There are No Small Problems - The worst killer of motivation is facing a seemingly small problem that creates endless frustration. Reconstruct and reframe little problems that must be fixed as bigger ones, or they will kill any motivation you may have. Fifth, think about what your life will be like when you reach your goals. You set up objectives for a reason. Thinking about how things will be as you continue to march forward can be quite empowering. Sixth, Build on your Success - Success creates success. When you've created success in your life, it is easy to feel motivated about almost anything. There are many ways you can place small successes earlier on to spur motivation later. Structuring your to-do lists, placing straightforward tasks such doing your harder task early in the day can increase your success. These three ideas can often help people find that little lightning bolt of inspiration that can sustain them through a challenge. Don't let flagging motivation stand in way of your success!
