This is a GREAT story! Thanks for sharing it. I've suggested my readers over at http://www.seedsoftriumph.com come over here and read it. It fits very well with my thoughts and perspectives about The Perfect Storm. No storm will last forever. It can't. This too shall pass. Good stuff.

Yes, habits are formed as we imitate, or yield (whether consciously or below the level of awareness) to the behavior of others. We can also yield the knowing of our highest being to the immediate demands of our lower self, ultimately to our detriment. For me, breaking habits means that (a) I study more accomplished people and yield myself to their ways and (b) I seek daily to strengthen my highest being through study, meditation, and prayer. Through it all, I maintain a state of grace knowing that when it comes to forming new ways, some days are better than others. Very thought-provoking Lolly, and encouraging too! Thank you so much.

Delilah, You are a perfect example of what I am speaking about. F. E. A. R. is usually False Evidence Appearing Real. You felt fear and you did it anyway and you were fine. NO, you were more than fine. You felt positive afterward. SO PROUD OF YOU!

I actually had the pleasure of applying the act of feeling the fear and doing it anyway.

I was asked to host a webinar at the last minute today. Naturally, fear gripped me immediately, but I started taking the necessary steps to "do it anyway". After the event was over, I felt a rush of positive emotions and thoughts.

Thank you so much for this post. It inspired me to work through my fear today and accomplish a goal.

Thanks for that powerful reminder Lolly! There is a book by that same name (Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway) that is one of my absolute favorites. There is exhiliration in walking through the fear...to paraphrase all of our moms advice, "the fear won't kill you, but pressing forward in spite of it will ABSOLUTELY make you stronger!"

Again, thanks for sharing...it's always inspiring coming here! :-)

Karl,
Since my post, I have actually made revisions in my life. New Motto: Do not speak bad and do not speak good. Just concentrate on making a difference in the world.

Thanks, Lolly. I will aim to gossip ONLY about people's good qualities. That works for me. What I was using before was, "only talk about people while pretending they are hearing every word you're saying." I also pay attention when someone talks about someone else, since what they are usually most upset about is some expressed or repressed quality that bugs the speaker internally. I then try to bring the conversation around to solutions to resolve the inner issue for the person in the room with me.

Very important lesson Lolly. Thank you, most especially for reminding me that "feelings are not facts, they are responses..." For me this awareness provides access to allowing my feelings to be, and to use them as a guide rather than allowing them to control me in the present or shape my future reality.

Lolly, enjoying your writing, which I found through a twitter post.

The thing about comparisons is that our minds and nervous systems are designed to make them. We can't help it. It's like that book 'The Four Agreements.' My wife brought it home, told me the first agreement was 'Make no assumptions.' My response? "That guy is assuming I can do that!" I can't, because assumptions allow me to navigate much of life more successfully than if I had to figure each thing out each time.

Likewise, comparisons can inform us. So I would say that making useful comparisons is a better choice than making limiting ones (a comparison!) So, "A hundred years from now, what difference will it make?" and "It can always be worse," and "Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" are all examples of potentially useful and life empowering comparisons.

Keep up the great work!
Rick
