Feeling Stuck?

Feeling Stuck?

“I am stuck!”

This feeling of being stuck is very familiar for most of us.

Sometimes you can’t see your way out of the mess.

How easy to think, you will be feeling like this forever.

This moment can be a turning point for you.

Here is a secret.

You are never stuck.

No matter where you are, you can turn things around.

You simply have to be open to change.

The feeling of being stuck is simply YOU telling yourself that there is more that you desire in your life.

The frustration of being stuck, and the negative emotions that are created around it, is often caused when you aren’t sure how to make the changes you want.

Yes, life has created certain challenges for you. But the purpose was not to make you feel stuck. The purpose was to set you free. To provide you with lessons, experiences, and circumstances that would trigger growth and healing.

Life is provoking, promoting, urging you to grow, stretch, learn and heal.

Life is trying to get you unstuck.

If there is one thing to be true, life is in a constant continuous change.

For getting unstuck. Get clear on what you want to change. Set up realistic timelines. Be optimistic about it is you want.  Cry when you need to. Rest when you are tired. But give life the space to work its magic.

Get unstuck, this second, this minute, this hour, this life. And live the life you are meant to live.

Thanks for the read, I enjoy your posts on twitter and i couldn’t help but check your blog out too!

My own experience tells me that *accepting your circumstances/feelings/problems and working on them is one of the best ways to set yourself free…

I have met so many negative people in my life its not even funny (especially those who live in the 3rd world where the system is based on manipulation, *tisk tisk). Somehow when i speak to them in a positive manner they just don’t listen or think I’m crazy!

Not for nothing, but i look upto people like yourself with positive attitudes and the drive to work on their shortcomings. Its all about harnessing the power inside your mind and heart..

Thanks and onwards we march in this journey called life. We’ll fight (nicely) for the good we believe in and will never give up even if dont reach the goals we set for ourselves!!

Thank you for your wonderful insightful comment.
Some people drift through their entire life. They do it one day at a time, one week at a time,
one month at a time. It happens so gradually they are unaware of how their lives are slipping away
until it’s too late. I believe, we should step into life with courage. Learn to say, I don’t know. Have faith,
let faith faith lead you wherever you need to go.
Life is a risk you cannot afford not to take. Today, let’s take risks and be courageous.
Hope you come back here often.

    Lolly,

When I feel stuck, I don’t call it that. I call it being “in a fog.”

It’s when nothing makes sense and the problem you are working on seems unsolvable. You are confused and lost. You don’t know where to turn because you can’t see the right direction out of the fog.

    Here’s the secret, though:

Being in a fog is a necessary part of the creative process.

It’s during that time of confusion when you need to keep moving and seeking more information. Eventually, the solution will become apparent.

And that moment when you break out of the fog is a moment of great joy. It’s worth the frustration.

    Here’s secret number 2:

When you are in the fog, rejoice in it.

Have enough faith in yourself to believe that the fog will lift and the elegant solution that you find will be worth it.

Learn to be comfortable being uncomfortable.

Another word for the” fog being lifted” can be that “AH” – moment. When everything makes sense all of a sudden.
When all of the pieces of the puzzle fit and you know what you have to do next ……it just clicks.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts here. I really enjoyed reading your comment.
    Please come back often.

    Lolly,

I came to this blog post about “being stuck” through Twitter. How well-timed and excellent it is! I’ve hit a little puddle of “stuckness” recently in considering new pathways for my blog and business, and in experiencing feelings that I am not getting enough done.

It is true, as you say, that the feeling of being stuck tells us that we have a desire to go further, to stretch more, to become better.

Pema Chödrön, in Awakening Loving-Kindness, writes about a group of people climbing a mountain. Many climb higher and then come to an edge, and freeze. They cannot go any further unless they push themselves to do so, unless they meet their edge.

“The moral of the story,” she writes, “is that it really doesn’t make any difference where you meet your edge; just meeting it is the point. Life is a whole journey of meeting your edge again and again.”

I enjoyed reading your post very much and am inspired by it!

    Thanks,
    Susan

    Dear Susan,
Thank you for sharing, the story of mountain climbing.
“LIFE IS ABOUT MEETING YOUR EDGE OVER AND OVER AGAIN”
Profound. (you just inspired me to write another blog post)
    Thank You.

Hi Lolly et al … an interesting post, this.

Stuck and fog issues have been part of rich mastermind discussion recently. Our group is working through values alignment within Life pursuits, and, creativity and empowerment are being revealed as steadying anchors in the world of the entrepreneur. Working for the man, on the other hand, is a tough go for some when creative and navigational control is absent … another kind of fog can lurk here. The fog for us, in this discussion, is a bit of the ‘Lost in Translation’ syndrome where those who have worked through Life on their terms (masters) are coaching novices through the moratorium of recognizing what works. If we handle this right, as the fog lifts the process will be Life changing, something will be passed on and perhaps a few new entrepreneurs will begin making their way in the world. Other ideas – ‘next steps’, is indeed about recognizing we’re never stuck. Stuck is more about depletion of physical energy at a critical choice point. Fog, though, is often an issue of moratorium where we come to terms with what our next steps ought to be. Here, I appreciate that moratorium’s fog does lift and poignancy of vision is gained (or returns). Sagacity really must be the possession of confidence and faith in our competence to feel/find/fight our way through the fog to destination/end point.

    Ross,

I seriously enjoyed your comment and it got me thinking. (your group sounds amazing by the way)

FOG is dense condensation of water that hangs near the earth in the form of a heavy mist.
In essence, it is a lazy cloud that hugs the earth, rather than hovering in the sky.
So too in our lives, the fog that holds onto us, hugs us, fills us with tears of frustration,
is hovering low this heavy mist in your lives, but it will lift, and dissipate
so we can see more clearly and move onto our chosen path.

Thank you so much for sharing. Come back again.

Oh my God..do these words hit home for me.
    How very well put….well said.
I have often felt “stuck” and it’s exactly for the reason you stated above…now that I reflect upon things a bit.
I am 60 years old and enjoy your posts on Twitter very much so I just had to come in here.
Your wisdom ……the way you articulate your wisdom…is wonderful and quite inspiring.
    Thank you.

Lolly you’ve attracted a great group of readers. The comments are so insightful it inspired me to leave my own comment.

I think being stuck is about FEAR (false evidence appearing real) Fear that if you make a wrong decision you will make your situation worse, fear that if you don’t you will always remain unsatisfied with your life.

Keep writing and I’ll keep reading!! All the best to you!

    Hello Lolly,

I admit, I do get that feeling of being stuck many times. But for some reason I do get to turn things around. What I do is I take a step back, reflect on the things I’ve done and plan the next step. I guess that’s what works for me.

I like the part where you said “give life the space to work its magic.” It’s a very nice and powerful statement. I believe this will help me Live More. I’ll think of this in case I get the feeling of being stuck again.

    Kudos to your blog!
